The plagiarism issue first really came up in the by-election between Jane Lee and Chen Ching Mai after Hanggoyu was kicked out of the Gaussian Mayor's ship in a recall. Now that was as far as I know the first time that it's ever come up as a major issue in an election but that should have been a portent for political parties and candidates. People hold the KMT and the DPP to different standards, says Donovan Kingdah.
