The North Atlantic Treaty was signed between France, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands on April 4, 1949. The original members of NATO did not include West Germany. This week we look at why this may have been the case in the first place. We'll also talk about whether Turkey should be allowed to join as a new member.
