Trade Economists Say That Countries Dependent on Trade Did Much Better Than Others
What we learned under this pandemic is quite counterintuitively, but something that trade economists have always told us. And then what you realize is that the companies that did worse and were the least resilient were the ones who had fairly simple primitive supply chains only dependent on a few producers. That's because if you have very extended supply lines, it also means that there's always some place that's still standing that's open even in a world of lockdowns.
