If your skin is really dry and flaking, that can actually increase inflammation. A lot of cells like acid products on the market now are formulated to be a lot more hydrating. Tea tree oil has been used in a clinical trial against benzoyl peroxide,. And they found that it worked as well as benzoylperoxide with less irritation.
