The Problem of Suffering in Modern Christian Thought
The trickiest issues tend to circulate around the problem of evil in some form or other. The curious thing is those questions impinge much more in modern Christian thinking than they ever did in ancient Christian thinking. It tends to be a question that hits comfortable Western people as they look at our suffering. But yes, there are places where there is real suffering and where there always has been.
