Kano's Journey From Student to Teacher

Jigaro Kano was a student of Atelétics through Jiu Jitsu for 5 years. By 1881 he graduated from the literature department and by that point also Izo himself, after teaching Kano for just a little bit, also died. A baseball teammate of his was a guy named Masahisa Motoyama who's father was the master of the Kitori U style of Jiu Jitsu. The year 1882 was a pivotal one in Kano's life when he began teaching at a private school in Tokyo. He asked the folks at the Buddhist temple known as HOGI to rent 3 of their spare rooms.
