Plato's Theory of the Soul
The problem then is that jesus came, he said explicitly, to talk about and to inaugurate the kingdom of god on earth, as in heaven. Jesus did not say, you have to penetrate through earth to see the heavenly reality. And he certainly didn't say that one day we will leave earth and go to heaven instead. Many christians assume that that's a christian doctrine. You do not find a platonic theory of the soul in the new testament.
