The Effects of Noise on Animals

Some people will have a much higher tolerance for noise than other people, and other people will just really, really need peace and quiet. You can think of noise effects as being twofold, much like they would be on you. Because the noise you perceive, and because you don't want to hear it, it changes your behavior to annoys you. Then there's also the indirect effect when noise prevents you from hearing other things. There's no getting around the masking effects of noise, and so you don't hear other things that really matter. How much does noise pollution limit what animals can hear?
