The Alan Partridge feature Alpha Papa is a complete introduction to the guy in his 50s, you know, 60s. There's a bit in it as well that is like in one line, incredibly moving and tells you everything. I've never heard so well in the word economy of comedy where it's like how few letters and words you can put into a joke to make it work. The moment when the guy who Pat Farrell kidnaps everybody in the studio is holding everybody hostage: He holds up a picture of his wife three months before the angels carried her to heaven.
