The Benefits of Thormbectomy for Stroke Patients
Stroke expert Simon Lang explains some of the procedures that could be used in stroke patients. He says decompressive hemichroniac is a neurosurgical procedure where half your skull is removed to allow the brain to swell. It's not looking to remove the clot, it's ensuring there isn't a huge rise in ICP when patients have had a massive stroke. But what it really means is that those patients that have got a catastrophic stroke are either not alert or further down the conscious level scale.
