The Geopolitical Situation in Niger
In addition to the vast amounts of gold that Niger produces, it also produces a lot of uranium, which is very important for European nuclear energy. And although right now, Niger is not a major producer of oil, it has about a billion barrels of oil that have yet to be pumped. This is one of the main reasons why the Western powers are so angry about the military governments in Niger, Mali, and Burkina Faso. Polls show that the majority of people in countries like in Niger specifically support the nationalist policies of the military government.
