The US Fed and the ECB Aren't on the Same Page Behaviorally
When a bureaucracy wants to do something, whether it be revalue gold, or do something that lets them clear this solvency hurdle, they need an outside force to permit them. And the auditor cleared the path for whatever's coming next by saying, the German central bank's going to be insolvent if we don't do something. So that does clear the path for gold being not necessarily repriced, but those theoretic profits being made real.
