The History of Mechanical Computers

The first computers of that type were developed to produce the tables. The mechanical computers which are essentially like odometer-like wheels started to be developed in the mid-1600s. When I was a kid, for example, mechanical computers were still a thing. Electronic calculators came in around 1972 and before that time, there were, if you were very sophisticated, you got to use electronic computers.
