Red Wine and Gut Microbiome
Dr Tim Spector is a professor of epidemiology at King's College London. He found that red wine drinkers had a healthier, more diverse gut microbiome than non-drinkers. Once you start getting to three glasses of red wine per day, on average, you lose any benefit. In the traditional Mediterranean diet, and indeed in some randomized control trials, they actually suggested glass of red wine with one meal as a reasonable dose.
