Is Marriage a Natural Institution?

In a state of pure nature, human beings would be called to the natural worship of God. I agree with Father there that it only signifies Christ in the church because God was going to institute the church and become incarnate. It's possible that this sort of union could have existed in a world in which Christ in theChurch was not Christ in the Church. But then we've got a new supernatural end for marriage.
