We've Got a Cell, We Will Now Do This

We took an organism that was 1.017 million base pairs, mycoplasmomycoidies. And we whittled this down to about 480-some genes. This is the minimal gene set. It took us a long time to get there, but we produced this minimal cell that divides in two hours. Most are present in E. coli, 90 plus percent are present in all bacteria.
