Julianna's Story

Julianna Kupka was the only person to survive a 10,000-foot fall in 1971. She survived by surviving on rainwater and half-rotten fruit that had fallen from trees. Her parents established an Amazon Jungle Research Station known as Panguana when she was just 14 years old. Julianna passed her leavers exam at Lima's German school with flying colors before being forced to return home for Christmas due to poor airline service. The following day, their plane was struck by lightning and plunged two miles into the rainforest below.
