I've been reading the works of J Marvin Brown, who basically started the school in Thailand that taught English to to type or sorry, taught Thai to foreigners. And he taught entirely through comprehensible input. No conscious study at all. He actually forbid the students to speak to speak Thai for the first 1000 hours of input. They couldn't speak Thai because he didn't he really believed that early output can damage your your ability to speak naturally if you do it too early. Okay.
