The Importance of Restricted Advice

Pete Jackson says he bought into an established company so had to work hard to break it. He is able to do that through something called restricted advice. This means not getting involved in venture capital trusts, estate planning or some of the more esoteric, high net worth only products. But as a business, what we decided was how clients aren't going to need that. We just cut our panel down to what's really necessary and if we find somebody who doesn't suit then we refer them to another advisor.
