The Great Star Catalogue
Flamstey's great star catalogue, published in 17 25, was the great achievement of greenwich observatory. But hearsels were beginning to find mistakes in it and problems with it. William prevailed upon caroline to produce an index so that she would be able to check back from the observations to the catalogue. It took quite a long timeo tremendously challenging work in terms of concentration and care. She actually added about 500 wire more than just over 500 stars,. Two flam seeds, three thousand stars are an extraordinary achievement, so extraordinary that it was published. And there are many, many stellar objects which still are known by their n g c catalogue number.
