Nephi is the most unapproachable of all figures in scripture. He presents himself as over zealous at times, prone to a certain kind of over the top demonstration of his faith. Nephi has a hard time getting his head around that and i think you do a great job of capturing this in your book. And one of the things that's most striking about laman and lemuel in first nephi is that they are clearly attuned to the suffering of the women in a way that nephi himself doesn't seem to be. I've travelled with pi, as it were, to where he stood when the spirit swept him away, to witness the history of his people
