The History of State Terrorism

The Bolsheviks never embraced revolutionary terrorism. They considered it a form of revolutionary romanticism or sentimentalism. The idea that the terrorist as a hero martyr could have a transformative change on the government, on the world was just utter nonsense for them. For them, it would be state terrorism. It would go back to the Jack bins. There's attempts to assassinate the czar as early as 1866. And it's targeting particularly government officials at a senior level who are provincial governors in support of repressive measures.
