When did we start thinking that knowledge changed people more than identity? Well, there were two major shifts. The first one was when we encountered Greek Roman culture. Christians trying to interact with their culture and say, well enough, if thinking is what it's all about, then it's about truth. So truth and thinking became the basis of being human.
