The Queen, the Queen of the Country

A herald was sent to deliver news of an English victory in France. When he arrived at the queen's chamber, she did not look like what he had expected. He tried to find out why - and how much colour it should count as a red hair. But his efforts were fruitlessly thwarted by her stern face. The story ends with him fleeing back into the wilds of northern France.
