After a few years of teaching, you took a year to visit the Centre for Industrial and Applied Mathematics at Oxford University. It was actually a discipline hopping grant from UKRI. You were able to get a couple very key papers published - one on landslide, and another on forest fires. The paper on landslides in particular I find fascinating. How has it helped our understanding of landslides? What it did is it helped better define what is the risk of large landslides occurring in a given region.
