Dan hind: If we're going to design technology in service of human flourishing, it's through the state and through public institutions. The b d c is intended to operate kind of as a vanguard institution that could lay the way to developing democratic socialism. We need very clear that unless we get into the deep guts of the state, it will not produce the technologies or the institutional forms that we need. And unfortunately, that seems to be the path we're on - hopefully we can change it.
