Does the Military Need to Be Reminded of Its First Duty to Protect the Constitution?
I'm just wondering if it's the military itself that needs to think hard about its duties and responsibilities in a situation like that. Military leadership did perform well under those circumstances. Bot he scretary of defense as well as the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff made very clear that their first loyalty is to protecting the constitution. If they were given an order by president trump to basically support those that were conducting an insurrection against the united states, that they would have refused to do that.
