The first recording session which took place on Thursday the 22nd Friday the 23rd of June 1961 at the Friedrich Ebert Hull in Hamburg. The two mics recorded live on a two track tape recorder and Pete Best described the studio as an unexciting school gym with a massive stage and lots of drapes.
