I was probably 11 or 12 a little older but not much they were synonymous for me with like weird out Yankovic and Pee Wee Herman. Like I associated with that so like it was around at same time. It really does come from like the hunt at MTV 120 minutes like the the music videos Associated with like college radio before grunge happens. You know so that was like that initial wave like our early REM stufflike really Left of the dial college radioLike that's what they represented to me. I didn't have too many other sorts of media that I that I was connected to to me was more about just like this music that I was ingesting.
