The Biotapistry of William the Conqueror

The biotapistry shows a very favourable presentation of the Anglo-Saxons they're shown as heroic that it's not in any sense a derogatory presentation of them. Even Harold is shown as relatively positive in a relatively positive light and one argument is that it was commissioned at this very early stage where before the harring of the North before the rebellion and when relations were relatively peaceful. The question of William claiming to be the legitimate heir of Edward the Confessor is absolutely fundamental to his perception of his kingship. Unfortunately there is a dynamic working directly against that which is the fact that he must reward his Norman followers who put their lives on the lives of the Great Expedition.
