The Practices of Freemasons in Scotland
In the 15 nineties, king james of scotland decided to regularize and standardize more of the practices of these lodges. By about 16 50, most of the larger lodges in scotland, aberdeen, inverness, canongate and leath were a mixture of so called operative masons who actually built things,. and speculative freemasons mainly because they were interested in social solidarity. And by 17 hundred, 17 ten, there are now several lodges in london. So the movement, using more or less basically scottish style rules and customs s and language, has spread to london - attracting men of various social classes.
