I think one of the interesting bizarre things that SoulCycle and places like it do effectively if not exactly well is they take something which I think is a genuine good or a genuine observation about who we are as human beings. And very cleverly mix it with the sort of vision of the best self as being like skinny muscular toned looking a certain way suddenly you kind of get a two for one deal where the sense of self overcoming yields in this kind of setup a tangible acceptable result for a different kind of image of the good. The other aspect I think is also the ascetic quality that occurs in a lot of these other types of religions that that's another thing that got kind of pushed
