Michael Persinger, who was a scientist working with the effect of magnetic fields on human consciousness at the late 20th century. He notes that certain kinds of magnetic phenomena can cause vivid hallucinations. Whether what's being seen has an objective reality or whether it has a purely subjective reality is another question we can't answer yet.
