"We're in central Virginia near the Appalachian Mountains. So not too high of a cost of living area," he says. "So we were able to kind of start with our financial journey during residency when we were making less, and that kind of allowed us to budget starting then" The couple's income has since increased from $100,000 to about 305,000 per year.
This doc paid off his student loans in only 30 months. He said the freedom of being out of debt is allowing him and his family create a better work life balance.
