When the tree falls in the forest, it doesn't actually make a sound unless there's a mind there to perceive it. I think richard is right. Every philosopher that has talked about that is wrong. So it needs to be perceived, and there isn't any one, any person, who hears the sound, and therefore there isn't a sound.
