Is There Something Going on With the Government Control of Higher Education?
There are two things simultaneously going on. There is a kind of group think which is happening because the government is in control of higher education, he says. The moment we start liberalizing an economist start going abroad you see a big switch taking place and it's not that they diametrically change their mind I mean but they do start getting exposed to new ideas. Lionel Robbins no friend of mine says decolonization and planning are seen as panacea of our socialist age. In some ways it's not Indian education producing economics but that there is like a global zeitgeist within this development even among Western economists.
