The Faith of Desperation

The man in the story we just read is at a breaking point. His son is demonized, and he has exhausted every possible solution. So what does he do? He goes to jesus with weak, but real, honest faith. The highest level of faith is the faith of surrender. This is where you aren't believing in god for any particular outcome. All of us desire to minimize pain and maximize pleasure. It's paul for me. To live is christ, but die is gain.
