The Impossibility of Modeling Random Motion

When you see dust particles moving randomly, what you're really seeing is the effect of them being knocked around by the molecules that make up the air. And so seeing the random motion gives us evidence that those invisible molecules really exist. That may not sound super profound to you and me today, but imagine what it was like to experience that discovery for the very first time.
