"Even if it becomes extremely positive, like you said, I think that can become your identity to a degree," she says. "If you're not that anymore, that can be so distressing." She urges parents to focus on their children's strengths rather than appearance. 'I'm glad that there are more opportunities to talk about it now,' the mother-of-two adds.
