Julian sees Epicureanism and Christianity as having a lot in common. He also doesn't have a very sympathetic view to cynicism. Julian believed that Christianity was an attempt to secularize Greco-Roman culture. And he saw the Christians as essentially corrupting that by teaching classical literature.
