Suffering without purpose is suffering without purpose. Elder holland was quick to point out that the lord didn't ask us to go through this suffering alone. One of the things that really helped me was a talk that president oakes gave back in october of two thousand called the challenge to become. The purpose of coming to earth wasn't just to pass a test or to check some check marks. It was to become something. All that we suffer and all that we endure, especially when we endure it patiently, builds up our characters,. purifies our hearts, expands our souls.
