Misdirection is about controlling a target attention, leading them to look in a place that is different from where some cret action is occurring. There are lots of other types of misdirections, not just affecting where somebody looks, but it's affecting when they look,. And there are ways of misdirecting how people remember and recall something. But typically, misdirection tends to be used in terms of affecting where somebody is looking.
