The Cult of Value Investing
I think the cult of value investing has done more damage to investor returns than almost it's equally as bad as the, the cult of speculative bubbles. It's insidious because it's deceptive. People think they're doing something that's helpful to them, but they're actually doing the opposite of what's really helpful. I'm a math guy and there is almost a disdain for the quantitative. Companies that grow earnings from a dollar to $10 tend to go up, not down. companies that are trading below an RSI of 30 will get oversold. A lot of companies have a history of numbers, but to be honest,. it's because they manage expectations very well.
