The Importance of Formalism in Art
The word formal is becoming extinct because most people I talk to don't know what that means. To me formalism is the structural parts that make up a photograph or make up a work of art. It doesn't have to do with finding the right subject and yet sometimes that is key. The things that surround that subject are very important to me. Almost more important than that than the subject itself, but the human subject.
