The Construction of the Curriculum

Every new book will reorder the entire preceding canon of all the works. We now understand them differently because what has come later gives us a new perspective on that. For example, a freshman year we spend a lot of time reading Homer Plato, Plato's dialogues and Euclid's elements Aristotle. And you get a completely different picture of what it is to be a Greek person at that time. They're slaughtering each other in the worst possible ways.
