The Importance of Method in Worship
When we elevate, say it again, method to the place of mission, that's when you create an idol. And of course, idolatry is a hard issue. The tricky thing about production though, or service order, worship expression is that while most churches would just be stylistic expressions and preferences, which would put it into the method bucket for some churches style of worship. That expression actually is part of their mission. You have to ask your church is, which kind of church are we? Do we even know? And if senior leadership knows, does the congregation know? Sometimes there can be a disconnect.
