The Five Buddhist Families

In your book, you're using these artists to talk about the five buddha families. The three root emotions that cause people trouble are called passion, aggression and ignorance. In everything else but the mandala, they break out into two additional difficult emotions: pride and envy. So basically, ignorance, aggression, pride, grasping and competition, or jealousy, are like the five root trouble makers in our lives. And those are depicted as what are called, like, buddha Families. A an family meaning sort of like a genusdand you could look at it almost like this, what i think was first articulated in the eighth century.
