The Son Israel Language in the Old Testament
In Genesis, the Lord tells Moses to tell Pharaoh that Israel is his first born son. In 2 Samuel 7, 14, God says of the seed of David, he will be a son to me. This creates a dynamic between the one and the many where the son of God who is their king represents and stands for the son ofGod who is the nation.
