The Evolution of Collecting Music

In 1961, a guy named James Tenney creates something called collage Number One. He takes an existing very popular song and he clips out parts of it. And then he plays them with this tempo. This is pretty experimental. There was another one, just a few years later, by two guys, Bill Buchanan and Dickey Goodman. They took a bunch of rock and roll hits, they smooshed them together in this creative way. It's the beginning of that can of worms being busted wide open.
