Editors and the Public Deserve Total Transparency
On the transparency thing, I'm constantly in search of analogies to make the people freak out when you tell them, government needs more secrecy. But they can't be like, nickel and dimeing you while you're making the sausage, right? Because it's just, it's a way to screw up the sausage. You literally can't do the process when you have all the eyes on you. On New Deal history: There were barons of the house in the Senate who had real power. And there are a lot of problems with that, particularly on civil rights.
